You must tell them who you are, where you live and date of birth but you don't have to tell them anything else. You don't have to answer any of their questions. You don't have to show ID at all unless you are driving a car.

I wouldn't show ID and just tell them my name, rank and serial number, I mean, name, address and date of birth. For a moment there I thought we were under prisoner of war statutes.
