1. As of June 8th, New York State will pay jurors $72. per day.

Texas pays $30. the first day, and $58. each day after that.
So, California is paying it's jurors very well, but I don't think it's excessive, nor does it make much of an impact on the state budget.
Doing the math, at $15. the state would still pay $4.125 million to jurors. So the actual savings is only $23.375 million.
Seeing as how the state has proposed a $323 billion budget, and expects a surplus of $363 million, this cut in juror's pay seems ridiculous.

Gov. Newsom should keep it as is.
