TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) —The U.S. Senate Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs Committee has given the green light to a bill from Arizona Senators Mark Kelly and Kyrsten Sinema that will rename the Patagonia Post Office to the “Jim Kolbe Memorial Post Office.”

The legislation pays tribute to Jim Kolbe, who served Arizona, first in the state Senate and then in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Kolbe, a Patagonia native, passed away in December 2022.

The bill also has support in the House, where similar legislation was introduced by Representatives Juan Ciscomani, David Schweikert, Raul Grijalva, and Greg Stanton.
