Dirchard "Dirk" Richter is the actor who portrayed Radioactive Man in the television series. It is mentioned that there are many "sordid details" regarding Richter's final years. He was found dead in a bordello, where his body was riddled with bullets. Buddy Hodges, the actor who played Fallout Boy, insinuates that he had a special relationship with Richter.

He was later mentioned as a possible choice to play Radioactive Man in a feature film. However, one of the executives of the film pointed out that Richter was "73 years old and dead." While it is possible that he could have died from being shot in a bordello at 73, either the bordello death was a Hollywood rumor (similar to Buddy Hodges dying while being drafted to fight in the Vietnam War, even though he's alive) or the writers forgot or retconned his death as dying of natural/undisclosed causes at 73.

Behind the Laughter

Richter is a combined parody of Adam West and George Reeves, who portrayed Batman and Superman in their respective original television programs. In particular Richter is a parody of Reeves; Reeves' death was thought to have been suicide however little physical evidence such as finger prints, gun shot residues were found at the scene. Richter may also be a parody of Bob Crane, particularly the dark seedy rumors following the end of his career.
