However, England uses the same number system, but for slightly different sizes. I think that I am one size smaller in England. The European sizes are different. I am about a 52/53 depending on shoe type and maker.... If you by running/tennis shoes/trainers usually all the sizes are listed on the tongue.

48 is the largest size carried in most shoe stores, slightly large 13. As in the US I don't bother even looking. Zappos was my friend.
