4. Relaxing??!!

When I first realized that coloring for relaxation was becoming a 'thing', I had flashbacks to when I was a kid. One of my great joys was going to my grandma's house and coloring with her. But my memory now is of her always saying 'Stay inside the lines' or 'Don't color outside of the lines'. I don't think it actually stressed me out then, but I do remember trying SO hard to do what she said, mainly to please her I think. I also think that it followed me when I started drawing as an adult, using pencils both graphite and colored. I was always obsessed with detail, and getting things 'perfect'. Even now when working on art dolls and their faces etc, I can't get over trying to get it perfect. I know that is counterproductive and not necessary for a good piece, but it's still in my head. Thanks Gram!

Anyway, when I see the books everywhere, it makes me think of those days and laugh.
