Thomas Kinkade, the self-proclaimed "Painter of Light," whose artwork hangs in an estimated 1 of every 20 homes in the U.S. died Friday at his home in Los Gatos, Calif.

He was 54.

Family spokesman Dave Satterfield told ABC News Radio that it appears the painter died of natural causes.

"His wife Nanette said that Tom had provided a wonderful life for his family and the family was shocked and saddened by his death," Satterfield said.

Well, I will admit it, I liked a lot of his paintings, esp. the ones of San Francisco and other places in California.

I'm shocked to hear of his death at the age of only 54 years. He died on Good Friday.

May he RIP.
