43. True, but few of us suffer enough to cut ourselves...

or to subsequently commit suicide by shooting themselves in the chest...as van Gogh did.

That's more than "some" suffering. I've had a conversation with a woman who had an inch deep gash in her forearm from cutting herself, and she talked about it like it was a walk in the park.

That shirt is nothing short of mocking mental illness, and that is contemptible. It goes far beyond dark humor.

Talk to some "cutters" and you'll know what I mean.

Some things are just too heavy to mock on the internet.

We forget that van Gogh lived not all that long ago, and his tragic life mirrors what perhaps millions of people are experiencing in the world today...with no understanding and no compassion.

This is my strong opinion. I don't expect others to feel like I do about this, and that's fine. But by the same token, I won't stay quiet when human suffering is mocked by people with a keyboard, thinking it is some kind of joke to be tossed around...especially when there are probably people on this site who are cutters, or are suicidal.

It's callous, and it's not right.
