7. I'm in Alexandria VA. We had a high of 27 today.

I learned in October that my boiler had gone out sometime after the last heating season ended. The part took a while to get here, but I had heat back before Thanksgiving. It was 52 degrees inside the house without heat -- in the fall. You can imagine what it would have been like now.

The sidewalks defy clearing. I stocked up on food over the last few weeks. I don't have to go anywhere. I'm staying put.
