Convenience, flexibility, cost, and flavor all better than boxed stock/broth.

I had been turned on to them by a relative some years ago and over time completely dumped buying stock in boxes.

I also recall a while back seeing an America's Test Kitchen episode where they taste tested popular supermarket stock/broth and said all of them were unacceptably bad but one flavor of one brand (Swanson's chicken, IIRC) and recommended BTB instead. It's very useful to have flexible on-demand amounts of multiple broth flavors always available (for me, chicken, beef, vegetable plus/minus turkey); and those small jars hardly take up any fridge/pantry space compared to boxes of stock.
