Escaping from the everyday turmoil this morning ,listening to my son jam. [View all]

Dyslexic bad punctuation ramble.
We Gen X and Boomers grew up with some amazing music. This morning as i sit and drink coffee in the kitchen, sitting here just listening to my boy exploring the fretboard as he sits in living room.
Some of his original music and then him noodling parts of Mark Knopfler sultans of swing or S.R.V. to Hendrix castles made of sand or tossing in some Keith Richard’s tumbling dice riffs.
Playing through a 1 watt tube amp guitar of choice this morning a fender mex strat ash body rosewood neck.
This guitar i picked up years ago and modded with aluminum tail piece to new frets pickups and pots a new nut to tuners.
Yet when i walked through living room earlier my son paused and said to me dad i love this guitar it just feels so right when you pick it up and it sounds so good either unplugged or plugged in.
In a case next to him was his American strat i bought for him used as a sixteenth birthday present and is fine guitar. I remember bringing that American Strat home and opening it up and i laughed when i saw the initials on the pickups.
The reason was they had Abby 2005 on the pickups I can’t remember the month been along time since i peeped out the inside of that guitar.
Abigail Ybarra a cult legend in the fender community who wound pickups. My dude as i write this has now gotten on stage with the Allman Brothers at Fillmore east he has switched to the Tokai Les Paul got to do humbuckers folks.
I bought that guitar off a fellow G.I. in 86 West Germany a lifetime ago $200 then he needed cash , the reason Uncle Sam hit him with a field grade article 15 and loss half pay and reduced rank.
A great trooper solid soldier that fellow from my rifle platoon his problem is he caught a heroin addiction and over months i seen him decline in using.
Yet unfortunately he eventually caught time in the Mannheim stockade and then chaptered out due to his use of heroin.
And yet this Tokai reminds me of him , years ago when I’d run Buffalo well Towanda New York for this union outfit mid nineteen nineties . I looked for his name in phone book as we would stay in company paid hotels on our rest nothing under his name yet a woman with his last name as it was Slavic descent in phone book yet i couldn’t bring myself to drop a quarter to ask if they knew him or if he was well.

I ramble people my son twenty one and i are getting ready to hit the gym. Then home to get Dunc the chonk for a decent park walk, and stop at the store I’m thinking of trying cheeseburger soup today and college football.
Please send good luck for Dunc on his park walk hopefully the trash can will have a half eaten hoagie next to it. We always have to check it out the trash can at this one park Dunc discovered a hoagie once on the ground months ago we can hope.
