The terms of your original lease apply. But rent increases are certainly allowed. You may have state laws that apply. In my state rent increases for those of us over 65 must require 60 days notice instead of 3O days notice. The fact that you are paying twice what you were paying 15 years ago is not stunning. The housing market in most of this country, right now, is bonkers.
