Whenever they had a problem they'd asked me what to do. We had an AF regulation and an AF manual, both about an inch-and-a-two inches thick, which told us policy and what actions to take to do the job. Just about any question could be answered they they would just look it up. It was my fault because I was willing to answer they questions. I finally decided to change that. I told them to look it up, tell me the answer, and where they found the answer. It got to the point where they'd ask me a question and then say "I know, look it up and tell you." My point in doing this was to get them to read the regulation and the manual so when someone asked them a question they'd be able to answer it without my help. Also, it would aid them when it came time to take their career field test for promotion.
