and yes, I agree that even unsupported devices can still be used for years. I have an iPad Air-2 that I still love. A couple of apps are no longer supported, but with external power sources, even if the battery is fading, I can still use it for a lot of things. And obviously, plugged in at home, it is a great option for many routine functions.

But, I want a phone small enough to fit in my scrubs pocket at work and a walking vest or jacket pocket at home.
