Our bodies can only use 400 mg every 4 hrs, for a total of 1,200 mg / day for senior women, from what I have found on credible websites.

Raking more at once or exceeding the upper limit can have bad effects like high blood calcium level &/or kidney stones.

So what does my idioit dr do? Rxs me 600 mg/day in 1 pill, 1.5 yrs AFTER osteopenia diagnosis.

Best of luck to you!
