I remember one storm as a kid in 1967 we had so much snow schools were closed for 2 weeks, in large part because of Lake Effect enhancing the storm. The snowdrifts were so big that our plows kept getting stuck so they brought in snow removal equipment from Canada. There was still snow on north-facing culverts on my birthday which is June 20. We kids all thought it was awesome until we had to stay in school until the third week in June to make up for the time lost during the blizzard, lol.

But still better than hurricanes, for sure.
