Hero's enforced estrangement from his wife (who couldn't know he was still alive, or she'd be in danger too), and his attraction/avoidance situation with the young circus woman was an interesting subplot as well. That didn't look like it was headed to a neat and tidy ending, especially if she was cracking up.
I'd be interested in watching the whole season and the unaired episodes, but the market for it might be limited to just you and me.
