My understanding is that your birth name must match your state issued REAL ID & if it doesn't, for whatever reason, you have to provide documentation to justify the name change, like a marriage certificate, or you must present a corrected birth certificate with your new name on it. If this isn't the case then a lot of women's groups are misinformed, too.
