Being transgressive is a thing now, at least among right-wingers. I recall kids (probably including me) using the word waaay back in the '50s and '60s, not knowing any better, and during an era when "mental retardation" was an accepted term for developmental disability. But leave it to adults who should know better by now to dust off that old insult - because they intend to be hurtful and mean. We aren't constrained by any of that liberal wokeness and censorship and we can say whatever we damn please and if it hurts somebody so much the better because punching down is what we do, and fuck you.
