A bunch of Republican senators are only now realizing that the poor people in their state who actually voted for them are now going to turn on them as their medicaid and social security gets pulled out from under them. How could they campaign in all honesty fully knowing that the outcome for their population, already an economically depressed state with all kinds of social difficulties, would suffer an even worse fate under a Trump/Musk slash and burn mandate? Oh! That's easy!. You just don't give a damn! Just get yourself re-elected to another term with all the cushy accoutrements and enjoy the ride, and to hell with everyone that you are supposed to be responsible for.
