Joe Biden took a big hit in the United States for his unqualified support for Israel following the October 7 terrorist attack by Hamas. Biden stood his ground as Israel’s invasion of Gaza resulted in 46,000 deaths and 110,000 injured. Biden pressured Netanyahu to ease the intensity of Israel’s assault by forbidding the use of 20,000 pound “bunker buster” bombs on the city of Rafa. Biden spent his last year and three months in office trying to pressure Netanyahu to agree to a cease fire.

Netanyahu’s refusal to accede to Biden’s wishes – even as Biden continued to offer comprehensive financial and military support — embarrassed Biden, and his support among Muslims and young people eroded. Netanyahu, claiming that he would never waver on a wide variety of issues, refused to agree to a cease fire in Gaza.

Until Donald Trump told him to. It has been widely reported that Netanyahu dropped many of his conditions for the cease fire when Trump sent him a message to agree to a cease fire before Inauguration Day.

Now we know that Bibi Netanyahu wanted Donald Trump to win the election, and he did what he could do to tip the scales of the election to Trump.
