I am sorry you took offense with the Thai monk not touching Kamala. You really should have learned about why he would not shake her hand. A Thai monk can not even touch a woman let alone shake her hand. A thai monk cannot even sit next to a woman on a bus, train or where ever.
Just a note but if anyone is planning a trip or interacting with a culture you know nothing about please take the time to learn about them and the common does and don’ts so you don’t creat an awkward situation for your hosts as they expect, as the should, that you respect their culture.
