Yesterday

Iran was supposed to be a backwards, primitive country run by religious hotheads, who did the sabre rattling rhetoric part without being able to back it up.
Ripe for bullying by the US in short.

Instead, Iran, as Persia, has a centuries long history of effective war fighting.

The fact that Iran is essential for world trade must be an eye opener for the current US administration.

Very similar situation as Putin thinking invading Ukraine would be a simple walkover.
That war still goes on, some 5 years later.
