...the traits generally being referred to when someone is said to "have balls", e.g. aggressiveness/assertiveness, risk-taking, competitiveness. Of course, that doesn't mean women can't have these characteristics as well (and women do have some testosterone), but it's not like there's no correlation between balls (testicles) and ballsiness (traits commonly associated with increased testosterone).
