The National Park Service, as run by Trump officials, are masters of the political stunt, and that's what taking down the Stonewall pride flag was.
Just another blatant attempt to whitewash black history.
And this is the most incredible part of the whole thing:
Asked about the plan to re-raise the flag, the department criticized the city's handling of the recent winter storm in a statement to ABC News.
What has the snowstorm got to do with the Stonewall flag? Absolutely nothing!
Why was that issue raised by the NPS? Cheap political stunt to misdirect criticism, while, at the same time, accusing a newly elected Democratic Mayor of not being able to clear the streets of snow. I would point out that Mamdani has only been in office a few weeks, and this was one of the worst snow storms in NYC history.
I will say though that the use of city garbage trucks to also plow streets is not a good idea. They can't do both plow duty and pick up the trash at the same time. The City hasn't been properly prepared for a massive storm for a long while, and it's going to be a major challenge for Mamdani to revise their winter storm readiness.
