It was a sad day in 1991 when he died in a helicopter crash. I believe John Heinz remains (to this day) the only GOP member I've ever voted for. It's possible that when I lived in upstate New York, I might have voted for Nelson Rockefeller's reelection, but I can't be sure. I was an independent for a long time, but I almost always voted D in every election. The only time(s) I didn't vote D are mentioned above.
