I looked at that and immediately thought about the math.

$250 is not impactful. This underscores the fallacy of charity. This would make the Dell’s feel self-righteous and smug while providing a tax break for them and not really impacting those who need help.

Beyond that regarding charity, the issues faced every day by those who need it would suck up every asset of charitable organizations were they liquidated. Only government can bring to bear the resources but as long as the political economy of this country rewards greed while casting those who need help as morally flawed (with a healthy dollop of racism/misogyny throw in) we will not see the actions taken that need to be taken.
