10. Is the news story that people are discovering that the thousands of federal workers actually do something?

And when they are sent home from work for 6 weeks those things don't get done? And when they come back after 6 weeks they can't then hop in a time machine and do work in the past?

I wish everybody would stop pretending that we can shut down anything, really, for weeks and expect nothing to be affected. As if we can wave a wand and erase the opportunity cost of doing nothing. Every shut down, lockdown, slowdown, tie-up, roadblock, and delay has an effect. People doing nothing that would otherwise do something is a cost. Ignoring it doesn't mean it isn't paid.
