He reportedly learned that prosecutors planned to present the evidence in his trial, which was previously slated to begin next month. The former state representative asked the judge to throw out the warrant to search his residence, computer and mobile devices.

Just what, pray tell, did he expect them to do, perform an interpretive dance, stand mute before the court, expect the jury to pick up the vibes in the air? I mean, of course they were going to present evidence. My guess is the journalist meant the learned just what evidence was to be presented.
