Police investigating possible bomb threat at DNC headquarters [View all]

WASHINGTON — Democratic National Committee headquarters received a potential bomb threat Thursday afternoon, law enforcement confirmed.

The bomb threat was reported at 1:07 p.m., U.S. Capitol Police said. The Metropolitan Police Department's Explosive Ordinance Disposal squad were requested by Capitol Police.

Capitol Police said they are checking the building and its surrounding area. So far, police said, nothing has been found outside. Now, they are checking inside the building "out of an abundance of caution."

The DNC building is located in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Southeast D.C.
