Denouncing the US as "the most bloodthirsty, profit-driven, mad organization in the history of the world" calling for its overthrow is nothing compared to what the January 6 insurrectionists tried to do or what the Claremont Institute continues to advocate.

His firing is clearly for his political views. Texas cannot have vocal leftists in its state university system.
