I participate in a long-term study being done at Harvard. They sent an e-mail recently that they'd had to reduce staff by the loss of funding but intended to carry on - if perhaps a bit more slowly. Hopefully they can rehire people and get back on track.

I don't know where ALL the funding goes, of course. I'm sure some goes for equipment and such. I do suspect personnel is a fair chunk though.
