13. Reminds Me of When George Wallace Was Shot

That was my first thought after reading this news.

Reference Info:

George Wallace, the segregationist governor of Alabama, was shot on May 15, 1972, during a campaign stop in Laurel, Maryland. The shooter, Arthur Herman Bremer, was caught immediately at the scene.

Bremer was convicted of attempted murder and sentenced to 63 years in prison, later reduced to 53. He served 35 years and was released on parole in 2007.

Wallace Quote:
