all they might spill about him when their lawyers worked out a deal for them to be cooperating witnesses. It wouldn't matter if it was Crumb the 1st or who it was. Crumb The 1st, along with Maxwell might well be the 2 people who knew the most about what he was up to.

So you send them a nice payment as a gift for "future consideration" if need be. The payment would have the side benefit to Epstein of tying the 2 people to him in a way compromising their credibility if they should decide to rat on him later.
