2. I was reading in the New York Magazine Intelligencer and the author thinks the case seems routine.

However, it's all the drama that Trump created that is the issue.



The government must prove merely that Abrego Garcia knew he was transporting people who were in the United States illegally, and that he took them across a state line. That’s it.

The most consequential issue here isn’t whether Abrego Garcia is guilty as charged. He very likely is, and it’ll be up to him (if he chooses to plead guilty) or a jury to make that determination.

The vehicle that he was driving belonged to a human trafficker who is now in prison. Why would he be driving his vehicle? And also driving people across the country in his vehicle? They also have plate reader records....

On a side note: He's seeking asylum. It all depends on the immigration judge. It could go either way. There's at least a 50/50 chance, he will be granted asylum. If the judge likes him or is sympathetic to him, he will probably get it....If the judge is a Trump supporter, not much chance. Asylum is subjective.
