This is the way it was written up in the Big Ugly Death Bill. It is a signed law now that Medicare is scheduled to be cut 491 billion dollars, the deficits to trigger it were planned ahead.

Crying about it now makes no sense to me.

The time to take a stand was back in March when the Senate should have blocked the CR with the demand that our social safety net be protected. Chuck Schumer was afraid that Democrats would be blamed for a shutdown so he and several Democratic Senators gave Krasnov the super majority he wanted and we ended up with the Big Ugly Death Bill and Democrats got absolutely nothing for enabling the passage of the CR, absolutely nothing.
