Don't get me wrong, he's a fascist prick. And while I have long wished for such a law this will likely not succeed and as Sen. Peters said, this is a publicity stunt. But not for the fascist repukes but for the fascist prick Hawley. As with any fascist prick he's got his eyes set on more and more power. With what the fascist repukes have done to the Executive Branch it has become a very lucrative position that can bring real power and exorbitant wealth to an ambitious individual like say, a lowly Senator. And there is a play here, which is scary.
Hawley has made several moves of late reaching out to the so called middle, that group of voters, both left and right, that have a complete distrust of government and truly want "the swamp" cleaned out. I myself have long been one of those individuals. But "the swamp" as I see it is based in reality whilst "the swamp" as some MAGA's see it is based in conspiracy. Either or, this is, IMO, the fastest growing voter base that can be snatched, if done slyly enough, to give one an advantage. I think that's what Hawley's doing here and with other moves he's made like trying to get large swaths of the Bend Over Bill repealed.
But I live in the flyover areas that get FatAss elected. And I'm telling you there's a group of these people, whom no matter what many think, aren't stupid. They truly want government fixed. They want the corruption out. They don't care about Democrat or Republican anymore. They see the outright corruption going on now and are not happy with it. They know they were fooled by a Carpet Bagger.
I'm heading to the diner now, and I will converse with these people, the "smart" ones anyway. And guarantee if they hadn't heard of this bill, when I bring it up I'll get some hell yeahs. There was a large group of voters after Nixon who had no faith in government, it was all corrupt. Voters on the left and right. We're at that point again. Its a voting block we need to pay attention to and not push them away. They are "available".
