could see more than 50 senators rebel against Trump
We already KNOW that there is at least 1 - SPAWN of Ron Paul - who has basically said the bill is DOA to him. Period. He wants the debt limit increase removed - https://www.democraticunderground.com/10143470183
The Politico article ALSO mentioned this -
Republicans already have one all-but-guaranteed opponent in Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky so long as they stick to their plan to raise the debt limit as part of the bill. They also view Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson as increasingly likely to oppose the package after spending weeks blasting the bill on fiscal grounds.
Paul + 50 others (the latter who would complain about a "phase-in" of changes) = "more than 50 "rebel" (with the reasons for doing so going beyond just the "phased" change).
