In reply to the discussion: Zelenskyy Kept Trump In The Dark And Didn't Tell Him About Attack On Russian Bombers [View all]k_buddy762
(638 posts)on another forum this morning and I'm posting it to spur discussion, not that I do or do not agree (I am in the process of vetting some of the information). Still, I found it an interesting perspective:
"This attack took 18 months to prepare. Intelligence agencies would have known. For Russia's perspective, this isn't just a Ukr operation -- its a US-backed degradation of their nuclear deterrent using treaty obligations as the vulnerability. The natural reaction is to pull out of the treaties and hide the bombers.... Now we're back to the 70s."
The implication being, Russia *had* the bombers out in the open so foreign satellites could monitor them. Now everything will be hidden and the intel value will be lost.
And if it can happen to Russia, it can happen to the US.
