Bail denied for Kharon Davis after nine years in jail without trial [View all]

A Dothan man in jail awaiting trial since 2007 on a capital murder charge had his request for bail denied on Friday.

Houston County Circuit Court Judge Kevin Moulton heard arguments from the prosecution and defense lawyers for 31-year-old Kharon Davis before issuing his ruling.

Dustin Fowler, one of three lawyers representing Davis on his pending capital murder charge, asked the court to set bail, saying his client had been incarcerated for an extended amount of time.

Dothan police arrested Davis, along with two other men, on June 6, 2007, in the shooting death of Pete Reaves at his Rolling Hills apartment.
