Corrales, a deeply troubled but usually benevolent soul, was facing an impending jail sentence for assaulting his wife.

Usually benevolent soul? Corrales, who was a multiple division world champion boxer, was sent to jail for punching his wife and throwing her down a flight of stairs when she was pregnant.

You can't send up a guy for being a misogynist, woman beating asshole while taking it easy on another loathsome abuser of women.
