Boxers answer only to themselves, the cable networks that carry their bouts, and their managers. And if a cable provider can make millions by having Boxer A at the top of the card in a PPV, they will do so.

Players in the big three pro sports leagues - NBA, MLB, NFL - have to abide by policies imposed by the leagues, which are collectively bargained by the players' unions with the teams.

That Rice wasn't indefinitely suspended the minute the league saw that tape is ridiculous.
