8. I can see Chinaman being offensive in that it brings to mind charicatures like Hop Sing

from Bonanza. I worked with an old Irishman in the mid 80's that loved the guy who owned the Chinese restaraunt down the street. He was actually renouned for serving the best steak in town as well as excellent Chinese food. Old Gallagher never referred to him as anything but "The Chinaman". I honestly don't think he meant anything by that, but now we know better.
