Yesterday

Ask people on the street to explain the difference between facism, socialism, capitalism, and communism. Ask them to explain which are philosophical theories and which are economic systems. They can't do it.... not even our representatives, "for the most part", can do it! Until people can understand these differences, throwing in radical and progressive is only going to muddy the waters even more. It's been one of my main complaints for decades.

Just as an FYI, I'm for regulated capitalism as an economic system for the U.S. and democratic socialism as a philosophical basis for the country. Can I explain it all right now? No... and I'll even admit to that right now. I'll even admit that I do a lot of that based on emotion, which is what all this ball of wax ends up as, IMO. Short way of saying, I think if I dig deep enough into what you say, and I agree with you, and I think you and I could have some really good discussions. I just hate we only know each other via digits, and too far apart not to sit down with a glass of wine and go to it!
