Washington was a slave owner. Good luck getting his statues removed - at least for the foreseeable coming decades. I don't support the installation of this statue, but I can already see the right wing making a thing about the left making a thing about it. Trump's actions and frankly, the article's title seems like it's intentionally trolling Democrats with a target who was a slave holder yes... "At Rodney's death, he held 18 enslaved people. His will manumitted three of advanced age upon his death, and held the others to a manumission schedule he devised." (Wiki) He was also instrumental in raising funds for the war. He also had disfiguring facial cancer and wore a scarf to hide it. He lies in an unmarked grave. The title of the MSM piece seems like "bait" to get Democrats to shit on Rodney - and they'll say, "Oh, he suffered from facial cancer and he was a hero of the revolution and the 'Libs" are punching down on a disabled war hero." They're so fucking predictable. I don't think this is a hill to die on.
