All my ancestors came from England and France. The ones that came to British Colonial America were wealthy land and ship owners. They came to BCA because they were tired of having their property taxed for the Kings use. They did not mind taxing their own serfs and having them submit, but the whole thing of being taxed for the king and others really ticked them off.

This was probably the cause of most of the conflicts within the country. They wanted to be the ones getting the tax money not the ones giving it. The thought that some of my kin having to pay to support other counties and the royals really did not set all that good.

They came to BCA with that whole mindset, with their wealth, with their useful "serfs" and set up what was called "plantations" over here

Nothing has changed except for the same British colonials from South Africa trying to do the same.
