All the Gulf States have alternative supply chains to the Strait, they are just more expensive. The Gulf States could also cause trouble in the Strait.

The biggest threat to the Strait is Trump, not Iran. I have always thought that one of the drivers of the US in the Iran war was Bessent's and Trump's desire to boost oil prices. I still think that is true. If Trump decided to blockade the Straight and the Red Sea, then the world would have a real problem, and likely eventually World War III.
