as if he was entirely responsible for the decision. There is some semblance of a reasonable argument to be made along the lines that "dying from a preventable disease" is more detrimental than "learning from home for a year", I think. And even if kids were more reliably resistant to the infection, you could've had a lot of teachers dying due to proximity to kids in the classroom.

So, I'm not saying don't analyze/objectively look at the science backing how each of the COVID decision(s) were made, in fact as you suggest, we should. But the "blame Fauci for everything" routine is a right-wing argument, rooted in absolving the POTUS-at-the-time of all possible blame for any decisions that turns/turned out erroneous.
