I can't wave a wand and turn these people progressive for you. They just aren't. We have progressives in Texas, but we are far outnumbered by very religious people. Some of the progressives are also religious. That is our reality. In Talarico we have the best candidate we've seen in Texas for 30 years and reaching out to moderates is the path - along with turning out the base, registering new voters, getting everyone to the polls. I don't know if it will be enough, but I do know that we need to hammer on the economy and stay away from the wedge issues.
