In reply to the discussion: I like Talarico and belive he will win. But, I didn't like him dodging [View all]haele
(15,627 posts)89. Because when people are working for change, they often want CHANGE.
To put it in literary terms, they look to Gandalf; they want the Great, Wise Leader who inspires hope and drives change with his words.
They don't notice Sam, who is the real hero and the actual bus driver for change with his deeds and resilience.
All politicians are just mortals who have to work for a goal or change - and will often fail; they are not Wizards that can transform situations at will without thought of implications down the road.
Ya, you want someone who inspires people. You also need someone who might have a different mindset, but has a common goal and, while they may have different positions or take a few detours, won't get ethically turned around or quit.
